Agricultural Research
Kivos Agro-Research and Development is the arm of KRL that deals with improvements in farming practices and methodologies. Our research covers but not limited to Fish, Poultry and Livestock feeds formulations, Biofertilizer production and Agro-extension services.
The skills and solutions that emerge from biotechnology research is effectively transferred to emerging, small-scale and commercial farmers. Kivos Agro-Research and Development innovation hubs act as catalysts for the collective enhancement of production, agro-processing and marketing by farmers, scientists and innovators. The role of indigenous knowledge systems (IKS) are critical in enhancing grassroots innovation for food security and improving quality of life.
Crop and livestock improvement is a basic requirement for the agricultural sector. Research and development programmes must focus on the commercial sector’s indigenous crops and livestock to develop traits appropriate to emerging and subsistence farmers. Agro-processing reduces post-harvest losses, extends shelf life and improves the quality and safety of foods. Significant opportunities exist for agro-processing to add value to agricultural produce. Enabling mechanisms should be devised to expand agro-processing innovations and establish small and medium enterprises that improve the quality of agro-produce.

Biotechnological Research
Kivos Biotechnological Research is the arm of KRL which is saddled with the responsibility of exploiting biological processes for industrial, commercial and other purposes, especially the genetic manipulation of living systems and microorganisms for the production of useful biotechnological products such as food products, antibiotics, hormones, etc.
Because of the advancement of thorough researched and development, the importance of biotechnology has come to existence. It is a field in biology that is extensively used in engineering, medicine, science and technology, agriculture and other valuable form of applications. Biotechnology can be a great solution to mankind problems and challenges.
Biotechnology is concerned with the industrialized production of biopharmaceuticals and biological utilization of genetically modified microbes. And also the genetic constitution of animals and plants can be altered either by inserting novel useful genes or by removing unwanted genes. Modern biotechnology is changing the manner of growing plants and animals aiming to offer opportunities in improving nutritional content, product quality and economic value. Biotechnology has four most important areas of application such as health care, agriculture, industrial processes (biodegradable plastics, enzymes and bio-fuels) and wildlife management and conservation.

Environmental Research
Kivos Waste Management and Recycling is the arm of KRL that deals with the management and recycling of environmental and industrial wastes. Our research covers development of new waste processing technologies and the recycling of waste into useful products.
An effective waste management system is comprehensive, and focuses on reducing waste, reusing valuable materials and recycling . Commercial processes, particularly those used in the restaurant and hotel industry, tend to generate a lot of waste, and require regular, costly waste disposal. Developing an effective waste management program that will significantly reduce your waste disposal costs, as well as offer these other great advantages.
At KRL we believe waste management if done in a proper manner not only eliminates the surrounding waste, but also will reduce the intensity of the greenhouse gases like methane, carbon monoxide which is emitted from the wastes accumulated.
The characteristic of waste management which KRL deals on is waste recycling. As recycling of waste helps in reducing the cutting down of trees. This cutting of trees is mainly done for the production of paper. Through waste recycling, we can use the recycled waste to make quality papers rather than relying on trees. Also, recycling needs only a minimal amount of energy for utilization and complete processing. The resultant product we obtain is a renewable source of energy and is eco-friendly.

Food Processing Research
Kivos Food Processing Research is the arm of KRL that focuses on the design of improved food processing and handling techniques. We also deal with processed food products and advanced storage technologies.
People stopped living on fresh food alone a long time ago. Preservation methods make it possible to stockpile supplies; adding or mixing various ingredients allow for better taste or nutritional quality; processing boosts shelf life, and the production of ready-to-eat meals increases convenience. Food technology thus ensures a better use of nutrients within the chain from field to mouth, reducing the primary food production required.
The chain from food production to consumption generally consists of many steps. Historically, the primary consideration was to make food easier to store. After all, harvests depend on natural factors and have corresponded completely with the seasons, for most of human history. To provide sufficient food of good quality during other times of the year as well, a variety of techniques were developed to extend shelf life: Drying, salting, smoking and, later, cooling and freezing. While most of these preservation techniques are centuries old and low-tech, advanced technological progress has considerably expanded them over the last half century.

ICT Research
Kivos Webmasters and ICT Solutions Nigeria is the IT arm of KRL which specializes on ICT services and research. We our programmers develop innovative solutions and applications for our clients that drives the IT sections of their establishments.
ICTs stand for information and communication technologies and are defined, for the purposes, as a “diverse set of technological tools and resources used to communicate, and to create, disseminate, store, and manage information.” These technologies include Information and communications technology systems include desktop computers, laptops and tablets, fixed and mobile telephone systems, communications networks and software – even wearables. Your business can use ICT systems to benefit from improvements such as reducing costs, increasing efficiency, improving decision-making and increasing your competitiveness in the marketplace.
ICT systems allow your business to store, process, analyze and share vast amounts of data. The information available from corporate data enables managers and employees to make decisions quickly and accurately so that they can manage operations effectively and respond rapidly to business opportunities or threats. Communication networks also enable decision-makers in different locations to work together easily when they need to take joint decisions.

Oil and Gas Research
Kivos Oil and Gas Research is the arm of KRL that focus on oil and gas related services. We provide and supply innovative solutions to oil and gas companies both in the upstream and downstream sectors of the industry. We conduct research and act as research consultants to oil and gas firms.
Material procurement in oil and gas companies has been evolving as the industry responds to advancements in technology and the global economy. Oil and gas companies contract with KRL suppliers sourced who engage such companies with first-class research products, and this presents benefits for both the investor and the consumer. KRL has experienced supply chain procurement specialists who understands regulatory issues, commodities and how the company operates to obtain the maximum benefit for both KRL an its clents.
While material procurement includes researching acceptable suppliers, requesting quotes, preparing and managing bid lists and awarding contracts, it is more involved. Material procurement also includes assessing risk and managing vendors to assure prompt delivery of product or service, receiving and inspecting deliveries and making any necessary adjustments for damaged materials. KRL has the right specialist staffs on ground to handle your requests.

Health and Safety Research
Kivos HSE is the arm of KRL that deals with Health and Safety Research.
We carryout research to improve workplace safety, environmental waste and hazard management,
anti-pollution innovations and general health and safety of the populace in a workplace.
We conduct public health research to understand the influence of factors that determine population
health and propose interventions and health policies based on scientific knowledge and evidence.
These actions serve to improve health and well-being and reduce health inequalities in workplaces.
For instance, organizations such as construction companies make use of dangerous equipment and hospitals staffs are exposed to deadly diseases.
Although both groups are exposed to hazards, hospitals staffs are more likely to transmit these hazards more than construction workers. The use public health and safety research and trainings is paramount to ingrain safety into the workplace culture. The importance of safety training extends beyond a worker's introduction to the job. It also encompasses situations when his job changes or when working conditions change. Without an understanding of safety practices related to her job, a worker will be at a higher risk for workplace injury, illness or death.
